How to configure the APN for a SIM card in a TK-Star GPS tracker?

Below is the procedure for configuring the TK-Star GPS tracker. For further information, we recommend referring to the user manual of the device.

  1. Set the admin number (usually your mobile number): This number will be stored by the device as the one from which commands will be accepted and to which it will respond.
    • SMS Command: admin123456 + your mobile number

    • You should receive an SMS: admin ok

      Enable GPRS

    • SMS Command: gprs123456

    • You should receive an SMS: gprs ok

      Set the APN

    • SMS Command: Apn123456 + TM

      Verify the LED indicator

    • If the LED light is solid green, it indicates that the GSM connection is successful.

    • If the LED light is solid blue, it indicates that the GPS connection is successful.

      Factory Reset

    • If the configuration is unsuccessful, you can perform a factory reset.

    • SMS Command: begin123456 or reset123456

      Request the device's location

    • SMS Command: smslink123456
    • You should receive an SMS with a Google Maps link showing the device’s location.

IMPORTANT: The commands above are examples, as the devices are subject to configuration changes by the manufacturer. Therefore, we suggest checking the user manual of your device and using the commands specified within it, as they may differ in letter sequence and/or uppercase/lowercase characters.
